Smart homes have made a head way in the urban residential areas and with the effective home automation technologies in place, the market is growing at a promising pace with no sky reaching costs. Home automation is a revolution and it goes hand in hand with sustainability. As more and more people are connecting to the entire world and realising the importance of time and resources, they have turned towards smarter and more efficient ways of designing whether it be residences or commercial built spaces.

Home automation in real sense started from the need for authenticated security systems and door sensors and later evolved to lights and HVAC. An existing house can incorporate smart home automation with the use of automated door locks and security systems which can easily be controlled with a smartphone, temperature and ventilation controls can happen; energy consumption monitoring devices; entertainment systems; smart lighting systems; smart appliances; vehicle detection systems; and plant & pet monitoring systems all can be accessed smartly.

Right from switching and dimming to motion sensing, home automation technology has progressed to sensing with the motion of a hand. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth play a major role in this advancement of technology. These solutions were not well disposed a decade earlier however, now there are ways and means for easy maintenance, servicing and ease of use. Not only the design but the idea of smart homes has also taken a shift from just the need for acquiring luxury things to acquiring luxury experiences!

Foreseeing the future and citing a recent survey, the home automation in India is expected to reach a high of 850 crore by end of 2017. With so many tech giants entering the automation market the possibilities of a high tech friendly India is not far-fetched.

Our upcoming hi-end private residential project in New Delhi will be a fusion of automated technology with efficient material usage. At the door of the house a motion sensor is fixed to detect any movement near the door and has automated security systems in place. Lights turn on automatically when light sensor detects the darkness. Fan will turn on when the room temperature exceeds the set threshold and in turn reduces the room temperature. The gas sensor is placed in the kitchen to detect any gas leakage, if any leakage is detected the alarm in the lobby is raised. The designed system of this smart home not only monitors the sensored data, like temperature, gas, light, motion sensors, but also actuates a process according to the requirement of the user. All these features combine together to create a ‘what a life’ experience for the end user. KNOW MORE!

Automated technology is not only an attractive choice in renovation and refurbishment, but also for new installations!
